Nominations for the 37th Maine Women’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in March 2027 open on August 1, 2027.

Criteria for Nomination

The Maine Women’s Hall of Fame inducts women – both contemporary and historical – who have made, or are making, significant statewide contributions, in fields such as the arts, education, public policy, the sciences, and the humanities. Nominations are open to the public and focus on Maine women who are pioneers and leaders. Particular consideration will be given to those who have significantly impacted the lives of women.

Required for Nominations

  1. A cover page with the name, mailing address, email, and phone number of both the Nominee and Nominator.
  2. A $25 nomination fee is required and can be paid online. Please include a note with your online payment.
  3. A statement defining how the nominee has fulfilled the criteria. (Limit of 500 words).
  4. At least one letter of recommendation (limit of three).
  5. Nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae and list of accomplishments.

Nominators will be notified once judging concludes (expected by early December). One or two nominees are selected for induction each year by an independent committee. After final selections are made, the nominee(s) must agree to attend the Induction Ceremony (tentatively scheduled for the third Saturday in March) and submit a photograph that the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame will have written permission to use online, in publicity, and for archival purposes. If a nominee has passed away, the nominator is responsible for these duties.
