Nominations are open beginning August 1, 2026 for the 37th Maine Women’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in March 2027.
The Maine Women’s Hall of Fame honors women who have made an outstanding contribution to improving opportunities for all Maine women.
A woman may be nominated by an organization or an individual. It is the responsibility of the nominator to provide a complete nomination packet. All nominations must be submitted by November 1, 2026.
Criteria for Nomination
Each nominee must meet all the following:
- Woman’s achievements have had a significant statewide impact.
- Woman’s achievements significantly improved the lives of women in Maine.
- Woman’s contributions have enduring value for women.
Required for Nominations
- A cover page with the name, mailing address, email, and phone number of both the Nominee and Nominator.
- A $25 nomination fee is required and can be paid online. Please include a note with your online payment.
- A statement defining how the nominee has fulfilled all the criteria. (Limit of 500 words).
- At least one letter of recommendation (limit of three).
- Nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae and list of accomplishments.
- Supporting documents, such as published articles and online citations.
Email the completed packet to MaineWomensHallofFame@gmail.com and submit the $25.00 nomination fee online by November 1, 2026.
Nominators will be notified once judging concludes (expected by the end of November). After final selections are made, the nominee must agree to attend the Induction Ceremony (tentatively scheduled for the third Saturday in March) and submit a photograph that the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame will have written permission to use online, in publicity, and for archival purposes. If the nominee has passed away, the nominator is responsible for these duties.
